5 Japanese Stores That I Miss
1. Muji - A store centered around minimalism and simplicity. They have some really great products here - from furniture to stationery to clothing to snack foods. Mostly found within malls or train stations. http://www.muji.net/
2. Loft - Mostly, I love this store for its variety of stationery. At least the ones I’ve been to, they have an entire floor dedicated to stationery products with the chance to even play with the pens to see how you like them. http://www.loft.co.jp/
3. COMME ÇA ISM / COMME ÇA DU MODE / COMME ÇA Store - Expensive clothing store, but they have some nice styles - no matter which version of the store you go in to. They used to sell only black and white clothes, but that changed a few years back. Apparently, they’re also quite famous for NOT having a website, according to Wikipedia.
4. Uniqlo - Another clothing store with some pretty decent styles, but much cheaper. Occasionally have “guest designers” come to design t-shirts, such as video game designers. Usually spawns interesting results. http://www.uniqlo.com/
5. Lawson - A convenience store that’s pretty much on every street corner and train station. Seriously, they’re everywhere. Japanese convenience stores have nothin’ on US stores. You can pay your bills here, pre-order movies/video games/CDs, have packages delivered/picked up, buy movie/convention/concert tickets, plus much more. And the food’s not bad for a convenience store, either. http://www.lawson.co.jp/index.html
