I’m thinking about just using Facebook and/or Google Talk as my IM client of choice and getting rid of my other services. Anyone have any compelling reasons why I shouldn’t discontinue use of AIM, Yahoo and MSN?

It’s quite a shame I can’t stop Skype as well. But I feel the need to have the ability to video chat from my iPhone (yes, I know about FaceTime, but I don’t know one person with an iPhone 4 well enough to initiate a FaceTime call with).

Preferably, I’d like to use Google Talk only and put my Facebook chat into the Google Talk client and use one main account, but I’m not sure if that could be done.

How do you handle IMs nowadays?
